Hidden, spectacular neighborhoods that no one knows about seem to be a Tucson specialty, and this house is right in the center of one of the best.
Suffolk Hills is east of Oracle Road between Ina and Magee. Although we try to avoid real estate description clichés, it really is a neighborhood of rolling hills and classic Tucson architecture.
7656 N. Andover Drive sits on a hilltop lot in a cul de sac with a handful of other houses. It was recently updated with all of the upgrades you'd expect to see in a high quality renovation.
Significant work went into updating and upgrading the exterior. The outside of the house got a fresh coat of paint, and the flat roof was also recoated. All of the windows and sliding glass doors were brought up to contemporary efficiency standards, with dual-pane throughout.
In the backyard, the sellers drained the pool and recoated it. The pool decking was also recoated. The lovely grass and plants were added, along with a new irrigation system to replace the old one. Insulation and ceiling fans were added to the long covered patio on the back of the house.
Inside, the house is a contemporary blank slate with a cool color palette of greys, white and espresso. There is recessed lighting throughout the house, which is laid out in a split floorplan. Four guest rooms and two full bathrooms, each with tile tub/shower surrounds, new vanities, and Corian counters, occupy one side of the house.
Beyond the expected upgrades - new soft-close cabinets, ceramic tile flooring, granite counters, tile shower surrounds - there are lots of smaller, unexpected touches.
Temperature-sensitive LED faucets in each of the full bathrooms light up based on the temperature of the water. The LEDs don't stop there, either - the master bath has a large walk-in shower with an LED rain showerhead, in addition to the separate spa tub.
Not visible is the hot water recirculating system that serves the master bathroom, so you'll never have to wait for hot water (and you'll know because the LED faucets will tell you).
Cat 5 Ethernet ports in both wings of the house provide fast connectivity for everyone. Also not visible is the R-30 insulation in the ceiling throughout, helping to maintain the efficiency of the 19 SEER two-stage A/C unit, which is just a few years old.
