We're on the other side of 2017, and what a year it was!
The strong momentum of our local real estate market continued in 2017. In our work with home buyers, we noticed a shift from the past few years of "HGTV buyers" who were looking for homes to renovate, to meeting more buyers interested in turn-key properties.
The desire for turn-key homes correlates with strength in the new construction market; builders are busier than they've been since 2007. This increased demand has resulted in a steady increase in prices, which we expect will tick further upward with rising material costs due to the many natural disasters around the country this year.
All in all, the market continues to be strong, rates are still at historic lows, and we expect the market to maintain momentum in 2018.
In our office, our team reached new heights in 2017. We had the pleasure of helping 75 families sell or buy a home. We ended the year with sales exceeding $23 million, placing us again in Tucson's top 30 real estate producers.
We also moved to a new office space (still on the Northwest side). The best part of the move? We are officially a branch office of Keller Williams Southern Arizona! You can find us at 3275 W. Ina Rd. Suite 165.
Even more exciting, we welcomed two new faces to our team: Sarah Struthers, our excellent Escrow Manager & Executive Assistant, and Warwick White, our Buyer Specialist, whom I've had the pleasure of working with in the past, and who shares my love of cycling.
As we review the sources of our business this year, we continue to be thankful and humbled that 90% of our business comes from repeat clients and referrals, so THANK YOU. Our real estate business is more than ten years old, and YOU have been an integral part of our success over the last decade.
This success has enabled Jessica and me, personally, to increase the time and resources we devote to the charitable organizations we love.
Jessica joined Angel Charity in 2016, and this year took on a leadership role as the Chair of the Angel Charity Poker Party. It was a rigorous and very rewarding experience, and she is looking forward to new responsibilities with Angel in 2018.
I have continued my work on the boards of Tu Nidito, Tucson Values Teachers, and most recently, the Pima Community College Foundation.
With the help of our team, clients, and friends, we look forward to dedicating even more of our time, resources, and hearts to improving our beloved Tucson community in 2018.
We are grateful for you. Whatever your goals and plans for 2018, we wish you joy and great success in the year to come.
Wishing you a very happy and prosperous 2018,
