March 2016 Tucson Housing Market

March 2016 Market Report: Strong Sales and Tight Inventory

March home sales in Tucson were very strong, with 1,480 closings market-wide. It was the best month for March sales since 2006.

That's a trend we saw throughout the first quarter; January and February sales were also the strongest since 2006.

Other highlights from the March report:

  • Inventory market-wide continues to decrease. Available homes decreased from 5,072 to 4,802 from February to March. Year-over-year, there were nearly 1,000 fewer homes on the market in March 2016 than in 2015.
  • Inventory in the $100,000 - $250,000 price band is tight, with roughly two months' supply at current sales pace.
